Be Thankful Everyday
By Jermaine Thomas

(Be Thankful everyday)

Be thankful everyday, not just on Thanksgiving,
Thank GOD for your health and the fact that your living.

You’re able to move, you’re able to walk,
You’re able to see, plus hear, you’re able to talk.

You’re kids are all healthy but even if not,
Thank JEHOVAH from your soul for the family you got.

Plenty food to eat, a roof over your head,
Thank the lord for your life cause you could of been dead.

The days you we’re weak, those days that sucked,
We stumbled and fell down but the Father picked us back up.

He wiped my tears, every time I cried,
And he helped me grieve, when my parents died.

I’m thankful to you and I want you to know,
Never take it for granted, so appreciation I show.

So before your feast and before your drink,
Your thankful for so much, just sit back and think.

We’re still alive breathing, we’re still living,
So be thankful everyday, not just on Thanksgiving.

They Chasing A Fix

Everyone’s on drugs, they chasing a fix.
Alcohol and pills, such a deadly mix.

Everyday on the news, someone overdose.
The family left behind, it’s who hurt the most.

Being sober, it ain’t even a thought.
Every time you high, you catch an assault.

Drugs ain’t the answer, why don’t you quit?
You’ve lost the battle but you’ll never admit.

It makes you better, it’s your favorite excuse.
If you can’t afford the dope, you’ll rob or boost.

It won’t take over you, your too strong to let it.
But as you look in the mirror, you feel pathetic.

Reach for help, ask for support.
You stay with warrants, for skipping court.

Are you not ashamed, for the way you are?
The addiction prevented you from becoming a star.

But it ain’t too late, for you to change your ways.
Form a new circle and ditch the strays.

Stay away from fiend’s, stay out of the mix.
Cause everyone’s on drugs, they chasing a fix.
