Addiction

From a War on Drugs to Legalizing Drugs
By Dasean Battle

There used to be a time where incarcerated individuals would get charged for smuggling in drugs to support their habits. Some individuals want to make a lil extra money so there not a burden on their families financially. I’ve been incarcerated for over a decade and I have seen some foul things. From people being raped and people getting thrown over the range and falling head first onto the floor. So when it came time where the prison profited from Suboxone and Methadone it was not a surprise to me. The prisons fight so hard to keep drugs from coming in and from being abused. Now the prisons pass them out freely to keep us addicted and dependent on medications. What I want to know is how is it right when the prison pass out drugs, but its wrong when the prisoners do it? How do you cut down on drug abuse and addiction, when its getting pumped in from the people who claim we are here to be rehabilitated?
